Dewatering

Lambourne Environmental Ltd. is able to offer dewatering of industrial and municipal sludge and slurries to its clients. With the use of the Geotube® we are able to dewater the sludge and contain the solids which allows for further solids consolidation and protects the solids from re-hydrating. There is greater flexibility as to when the solids can be removed as they are contained inside the Geotube® .

Sludge is pumped from the storage system or containment cell and pumped via flexible hose or pipeline to the Geotube® . If necessary, a polymer is injected into the sludge. The polymerized sludge enters the Geotube® and immediately dewatering takes effect.
The Geotube® is constructed of a woven high-density polypropylene material. This allows virtually clear effluent to be discharged while the solids are retained inside the Geotube® . The polymer acts as a flocculent and coagulant thereby bulking up the size of the sludge particles and separating the water from the solid particle.
Once the desired amount of dewatering has taken place the Geotube® can easily be cut open and the sludge handled as a solid material. This increases the options for handling and final disposal.
